About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Hello,

I have been looking for flights to Shanghai from LAX. I have noticed that it is cheaper to buy a flight from LAX to PVG to HKG than to just buy at ticket from LAX to PVG. Both options are on China Eastern. I am wondering if it is possible to buy the cheaper flight to HKG with a stop in PVG but just leave the airport at PVG and not continue on to HKG. My main concern is checked luggage and if I will be able to retrieve it in PVG or will it be checked through. I know the airlines generally do not like for you to do this.

Please advise.

Regards,
Vincent

I think you can tell the airline staff that you do not want the lugguage check-through service when you book the air ticket.

Impossible. You and your bags will have to go to your final destination of HKG otherwise you will have to pay a penalty if you miss the PVG-HKG flight.
