About:Shanghai Transportation

From Shanghai, what kind of transport should we get to go to Xinyang? Could you please advise what trains or buses to take, how long and how much the tickets would cost so we can plan the trip before we leave for Shanghai?

Thank you so much for your kind reply.

Do you mean the Xinyang City in Henan Province? If so, you could take a train from Shanghai South Railway Station to arrive there in 14~17 hours. A hard-sleeper train ticket is about CNY200.

Alternatively, please fly to Zhengzhou Airport from Shanghai and then take the shuttle bus to Zhengzhou Railway Station. Here you could catch a bullet train to arrive in Xinyang in 2 hours.

The flight and train info could be searched here:

Mr. Shan, thank you much for this but when I checked CTG website schedule, there is no bullet train going from Zhengzhou to Xinyang. Could it be from Zhengzhou to Wuhan on train D141? If not, would you by any chance have the train number or the departing city name to go to Xinyang? I appreciate very much your help.

I'm sure there are bullet trains. The D141 from Zhengzhou to Wuhan have a stop at Xinyang. I have searched them out on TCG.
