About:Beijing Travel

Hi,

I am Singaporean and will be visiting Beijing for the first time from 2 - 6 April with my parents as well as my 3-year-old son on a free and easy itinerary. We will be staying at the Red Wall Forbidden City Hotel. I have done research on attractions to visit. Now I need advice on where is good for eating (trying out Beijing food), night markets or night scene in Beijing as well as some shopping for myself and my husband (cheap & fashionable clothes, bags and shoes).

Also, how can we get to our hotel from the airport in the shortest possible time. This will help me to plan our trip better.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

The nearest place is 大栅栏 (Da Zha Lan, Beijing local called it Da Shi la). You can find local snacks and time hornored shops in this street. Get out of the hutongs, there is the Qianmen Street. This is also a famous street with many famous Beijing food, including Quanjude Roast Duck! Night scene is good. You can walk to Tian'anmen Square and the night scape there is not bad. :-) Qianmen is a shopping place. You can get to Xidan, there are many shopping places in Xidan.
