It takes 4 working days for get a visa in Bangkok, the stay duration is up to the visa officers according to your travel plan and Chinese law, generally speaking, the single entry tourist visa permits 30 days stay in China, if you can provide the flight ticket to China and return flight ticket to prove your stay duration, you can get the stay duration you want.

Mrs.Naila Shamsi, did you get a China tourist visa in Bangkok, Thailand? I'm from California, now, I'm on vacation in Thailand, I want to apply for tourist visa to China? I'm not sure whether I can get it or not.
