About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

Hi, I would like to ask, given singaporeans have 14 days visa free permit into China, I am uncertain if I would be staying longer than 14 days in Beijing for my graduation trip. Is it possible that if I would like to stay longer than 14 days in China, could I apply a 3 months visa in Beijing, say after staying for 7 days? (given 4 working days is needed to apply the visa in sg, is it the same in China?) What are the relavent documents that I need to bring along? (btw, I will be staying in my friends house who is a chinese citizen.)

Mr.Justin, yes, you can apply for a Chinese visa at Exit & Enter Department under the Beijing Public Security Bureau if you planed to stay in China for more than 14 days. It is ok for you to apply for it after 7 days stay.

Hi Mrs Betty, do you have any idea how long does it take to apply for the Chinese visa at Exit & Enter Department under the Beijing Public Security Bureau? May I know what are the items that I will need to bring along? Such as Photos, Passport and what else? Do I need to bring a proof of my bank statements?

Mr.Justin, it takes about 1 week for you to pick up your visa at Exit & Enter Department under the Beijing Public Security Bureau. You should take your original passport, one passport photo, fill one visa application form, return flight ticket to leave China, if you can provide the proof of your bank statements, you can take it.

Mrs Betty, I am planing to go Beijing with a one way ticket and have plans to travel around China after staying one week in Beijing. So in this case, I would not be having a return ticket to SG. Would I encounter problems at Beijing?

Mr.Justin, you can first have a try to apply for Chinese tourist visa at Beijing, if the immigration officer asks for the return ticket, you have to book a return ticket and provide it. In fact, it is easier to get Chinese visa in Singapore rather than in the Exit & Enter Department under Beijing Public Security Bureau. You'd better obtain the visa in Singapore to avoid the problems.
