About:China Embassy in Thailand

I am living in Thailand on a multiple entry tourist visa. My wife works in Phuket at an international school. I want to visit China for three months to do some touring and I have a few questions. I realize that the Consulate in Bangkok is closed for Chinese new year. Should I apply for a 3 month tourist visa? or a 2 month and then hope for an extension while in China. What is more realistic? Also, isn't there an expedited service or do I have to spend 4 business days in Bangkok? What should I do to maximize my chances of getting a 3 month tourist visa? What do I need to bring? Thank you.

You can apply for Chinese visa at Consulate General of China in Songkhla if you live in Phuket with your wife. It is also ok for you to apply for it in Bangkok. The Chinese embassy in Bangkok is closed from Feb 13-Feb 19, you can only apply for it on Feb 22, Monday, you can have a try to apply for a tourist visa with 3 months duration of stay, the worst thing is that you are denied and get a tourist visa with 30 days duration of stay. You can bring your two way flight tickets, hotel reservation and travel itinerary to maximize your chance to get a tourist visa with 3 months duration of stay.
