The applicant owns real estate in China can apply for 12 months multiple entry visa, Please submit the original and a photocopy of the property ownership certificate. However, you can't obtain the permanent residence permit even though you buy an apartment in Hainan.

Ms. Jane, renting an apartment doesn't mean that you own real estate in China, you have to buy an apartment in Mainland China and the property ownership certificate is in your name.
