About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

Dear Madam/Sir,
According yo a website
12. HKSAR visa requirements for the following foreign countries / territories:

Nationality of foreign country (Territory)/ Type of Travel Document Visa free period for visit not exceeding Always require VISA, except in direct transit by air and when the person does not leave the airport transit area

EGYPT
90 Days

I understand that since July 2009, as Egyptian-passport holder, I do not need a visa or entry permit to enter HK, may you please as soon as possible confirm that these info is still valid untill Feb. 28th, 2010.
I will act according to your respectable advice within the next couple of days?

N.B. I am a legal resident of the Philippines with a 2-years stay, and I will fly from the Philippines not Egypt, does this make any difference concerning the entitlement for visa exemption that is granted to us as Egyptian-passport holders?

Thanks in advance for your appreciated reply.

Mr, Mark, yes, Egyptians are still exempt from a visa to Hk for up to 90 days even though you go to Hk from Philippines.
