About:Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan

I am a US citizen (U.S. passport) living in Atyrau with a valid Kazakhstan Visa. I need to travel to BeiJing in early April so I need to get a visa for China. I would like to apply now because I will be traveling to other countries in during February and during March so now is the only opportunity I have to send my passport to the Chinese Embassy. I have been told by people in my office that the Chinese Embassy is Astana is closed until February 21st. Is this true? Also, is there a Chinese Embassy in Almaty?

I think it is true, generally speaking, Chinese embassy in overseas will be closed for one week to celebrate Chinese New Year's Day, however, some Chinese embassies in overseas only closed from Feb 15 to Feb 17, resume to work on Feb 18th. Chinese embassy in Singapore will be closed from Feb 15 - Feb 19, but it resumes to work on Feb 20 (Saturday) and Feb 21 (Sunday)
