About:Beijing Travel

What's the cheapest way to get to the Wangfujing part of Beijing where my hotel is from Beijing International Airport? Arriving at 12 noon on a Wednesday. Will there be a lot of traffic? How long will it take and how much would it cost by taxi?

Also is traffic bad in the mornings. We are leaving on a Friday and the flight is at 11:45. What time should I order a taxi for to make sure I won't miss my flight?

First time outside of Europe so really nervous!

Also, would there be anyone who can speak Cantonese in Beijing? It would help me a lot as I am British Born Chinese but only know how to speak Cantonese. I don't understand Mandarin and can't read and write Chinese.

Thanks

Hi, Ms.BLUEROSEGIRL, here is the transportation from the airport to Wangfujing Area: take airport express and shift to subway line 2 at Dongzhimen Station, then transfer to subway line 1 at Jianguomen Station and get off at Wangfujing Station, walk out from Exit A, you will be on wangfujing street.
If you take a taxi, it will take about 50 minutes with the taxi fare around CNY130.00. Transportation is a bit crowded during rush hours (around 08:00 and 18:00).
Besides, you may inform the hotel staff of your early checkout to catch the flight, so that they could flag down a taxi for your departure.
As for the language, I think there are not many people could speak Cantonese in Beijing, but most hotel staffs could speak English, please do not worry.
