About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Hello,
I am currently an English teacher in China but have found the experience to be poor with regard to the work standards. I have been offered a different job entirely to which my computing degree applies. I would like to switch but am concerned about what this might involve since the foreign expert certificate I hold is probably (I assume) for teaching only and a handout from the English school stated that if any employee leaves the company the residence permit instantly becomes invalid.Could you confirm this please? Preferably with a source as I am having real troubles finding any solid information with regards to it. One source I read said that the residence permit is not controlled by the company in any way.

What do you recommend I should do?
Thank you in advance.

Once you get the resident permit you dont have any problem... Your company have the authority to cancel but they need to show lot of documents and need to waste lot of time and money .. so many companies dont take the risk ...
