About:China Visa on Arrival

Hi,
I'm a Colombian living in Vietnam.
My residency and working permit are in process for Vietnam.
I some North American and Chinese clients and need to travel to Shanghai to meet with investors for my clients very urgently. I need to be in a meeting with the Chairman of a big Chinese company tomorrow.
I went to the Embassy and because I don't have the documents in Vietnam they didn't give me the Visa. I'm running desperate. I have a letter from my clients through their subsidiaries in China. What can I do?
Pls advise. Can I get a visa on arrival? Should I fly to Hong Kong? Thanks
Ps. I applied a month ago and it was granted but now they say 'no'. Travel for 5 days in China with no problem.

You can't get a visa on arrival if you don't have the invitation letter from Chinese government unit. You can fly to hong kong to get a Chinese visa in Hong Kong. Generally speaking, it is easier to get a Chinese visa in HK than in other places.
