About:

Hi, I am travelling for the first time. Am I able to purchase train tickets to suzhou at shanghai south train station and book subsequent destinations tickets Ie from suzhou to changzhou from the same station?

No, the ticket from Suzhou to Changzhou can not be bought in Shanghai South Railway Station. This kind of ticket can only be found in the ticket hall of Shanghai Railway Station and the ticket office in Beijing East Road. Also, no need to buy the ticket for distance train.
