About:

My friends and I will be travelling to Shanghai this year.
We also wanted to go to Beijing. Can anyone give me guidelines and other
information on what's the best and cheapest way to get to Beijing?
Shanghai to Beijing by train? or by air?

If you come to China in the low travel season, you could get very satisfying discount-priced airfare from Shanghai to Beijing. This should be the fastest way.

However, while the bullet trains have been put into use, more passengers would like to take the express night trains shuttling between Shanghai and Beijing. The journey is about 10 hours. The train is so comfortable that someone thought it as a 5-star hotel. The train fare is about CNY500/seat and CNY600~700/sleeper.
