About:

How much is the cab fare from Pudong airport to Jin Jiang Inn South Railway Station? We will be staying here for 1 night since we will be leaving for Hangzhou the next morning. From Hangzhou, we will be going to Suzhou. Can we see these two places in 1 day and be back to Shanghai late at night? Is the said hotel convenient to move around Shanghai like going to The Bund and Nanjing Road? Are there buses that can bring us to places we'll enjoy most? Or should we move to Hangsheng International Peninsula Hotel instead? We will be leaving for Hong Kong on April 25. Thanks so much. I'll appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks

Well, Si, for the first night when you arrive in Shanghai, I think you could stay in Jinjiang Inn South Railway Station. It will take you about CNY200 to get there by taxi. If you would like to visit both Hangzhou and Suzhou, why don't you go to Suzhou firstly and then Hangzhou. In this case, you could book a hotel around Shanghai Railway Station, which is close to Pudong Airport and more prosperous than the South Railway Station.

It is impossible to visit Suzhou and Hangzhou in one day. I think you should go to Suzhou on the next early morning and then depart to Hangzhou by bus in the afternoon. Stay one night in Hangzhou, visit it on the 3rd and then take a train back to Shanghai on the late afternoon.

After returning to Shanghai, both of the Hengsheng Hotel and the hotels around Shanghai Railway Station are ok. They have good location for visiting other parts of Shanghai.

thank you Mr. Shan. Do you have any suggestion on a budget hotel near the Railway Station? We have to stay there on April 19 and leave for Suzhou early next morning. We can also book again on April 21-25 when we get back from Hangzhou. Where can we buy it? Shld be it bought earlier? Can you suggest a budget hotel as well in Hangzhou? How about the ticket back to Shanghai? Should it be bought earlier as well? Thanks you so much. We will be doing as what you've suggested. Thanks and waiting for your reply.

Hi Si, my reply must be complicated. Well, I have seached some hotels around Shanghai Railway Station; however, no satisfing one which is budget and comfortable. So, it will be a good idea to remain your choice: the Hengsheng International Penisula Hotel. Therefore, some change about your travle:

At the night of April 19, please take a cab from Pudong Airport to the Hengsheng Hotel. The fare is about CNY150.

On the early morning of April 20, please take a cab (20RMB) from the hotel to Shanghai Railway Station and then purchase round-trip train tickets between Suzhou and Shanghai on the spot. Please remember to purchase the D train tickets (动车), the fare of which is CNY26 and only takes you 40 minutes on the way. After one-day's visiting, you could return to Shanghai.

On the 3rd day, I think you could book a one-day tour to Hangzhou in advance. In this case, you don't have to worry about transportation and hotel in Hangzhou very much. Actually, a tour guide will be very helpful for visiting Hangzhou.

By this way, you just have to book the Hengsheng Hotel, no need to change hotels~

Thank you so much Mr. Shan. Your instructions are very clear. By the way, if we are going to Hangzhou on the early morning of April 21, can we just come back to Shanghai in the late afternoon? How much is the bullet train from Shanghai to Hangzhou and how long is the journey? Are we going to take it in the Railway Station as well? I haven't booked with Hangsheng Hotel yet but will do after I get a reply from you. Thank you so much.

Yes, Mrs. Si, you could do this. Well, the bullet train will take you about 1.5~2 hours from Shanghai to Hangzhou with a fare of CNY54, and vice versa.

Please purchase the round-trip train tickets on April 20, too. It is suggested that you purchase the tickets of train D5685, D3105, D5551 or D5689, all of which will leave from Shanghai South Railway Station around 07:30 and arrive at Hangzhou Railway Station around 09:00.
For the return journey, please purchase the train tickets of D5652 (17:01), D5678 (17:25), D5680 (18:25), or D5688 (19:46), all of which will leave from Hangzhou Railway Station. Please note, the terminal of D5688 is at Shanghai Railway Station, and the other three trains' terminal is at Shanghai South Railway Station.

The distance from Hengsheng Hotel to Shanghai South Railway Station is about 17kms, will cost you about 50RMB by cab. For saving money, it is suggested that you take a cab from Hengsheng Hotel to the People's Square firstly (CNY12~15). Here, you could take the subway Line 1 to get to Shanghai South Railway Station with a fare of CNY4/person.

Hi Mr. Shan! Is there a nearby supermarket near Hangsheng Peninsula International Hotel? How about restaurants and street foods? Do you suggest we hire a taxi to bring us around Suzhou? How about in Hangzhou, should we join a tour to bring us around the place or you suggest we go around on our own? If ever, how can we join a tour in Hangzhou? Thanks again.

Have no idea about the supermarket and restaurants, but it is sure that you could find one easy since this hotel is located in the walking-distance to Nanjing Road, the famous shopping area of Shanghai. It is suggested that you ask the hotel staffs to show you the directions. They know this region much better.

Yes, you could take a taxi in Suzhou. This will save lots of time. As for Hangzhou, I think you could book a one or two-days' trip in advance. Hangzhou is much larger than Suzhou. Then, the travel agent will pick you up at the Hengsheng Hotel and then drive to Hangzhou directly. Well, you may ask this website for help. I noticed they supplies Hangzhou tours. Have a nice trip!
