Hi

I am from Singapore. May i know how can i go about booking my train ticket from Shanghai to Wenzhou? I have check that the fastest train to Wenzhou is train no.D5557. Is there other train that have a shorter travelling time?

The bullet D trains from Shanghai to Wenzhou take almost the same duration. You could check the details here: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/

Currently, the railway station doesn't supply ticket booking online, so you have to purchase the ticket on the spot when you arrive in Shanghai.

thanks alot for your reply.

will there be any problem if i get the tickets like 1 day before my departure? becoz i will only reach shanghai on 1st Mar and intend to travel to Wenzhou on 2nd Mar, will it be too ruch to purchase the tickets?

Also i will be attending a convention at Pudong area, where is the nearest i can purchase the train tickets?

Well, I think you could purchase the train ticket one day in advance. However, you have to purchase it at Shanghai Railway Station or Shanghai South Railway Station. The ticket offices distributed in downtown area only sell tickets in 3~10 days.

To make sure that you could arrive in Wenzhou smoothly, you could consider taking a flight from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to get to Wenzhou Airport. Of course, it is more expensive than taking a train.

Hi Jamie

I will arrive at Pudong airport at abt 6am from Singapore. Shall i proceed to Shanghai Railway station or Shanghai South railway station to purchase my train tickets? becoz after purchasing i will be visiting a exhibition, 20th East China Fair at Shanghai New Expo Centre. Also from pudong airport, how do i get to the nearest or most convenient railway station?

Of course you could do this. When you arrive at Shanghai Pudong Airport, please take the shuttle bus Line 7 to Shanghai South Railway Station directly. The journey is about 40 minutes. Please note that the first bus of Line 7 will leaves Pudong airport at 07:00.

After purchasing the train ticket, you could take the subway Line 1 to the People's Square and then transfer to Line 2 to get to the Shanghai New Expo Centre.

Yes, on the 1F of the railway station, you could find the Luggage Left which is in service round the clock. At the railway station, there are clear directions to show you the way.

is there any locker service at Shanghai South Railway Station to keep my luggage so that i wont need to pull my luggage to and fro.
