About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

Hi,
I come from Hong Kong and I am going to Beijing in March next year. I have an ID card (I am not sure the english name of that card) which is for Hong Kong people travel to China but it expired already. Just wondering that, can I apply it in Melbourne? and How long will it take? Thank you.

You can't apply for it in Melbourne, you can entrust someone else in Hong Kong or Guangzhou to apply for you. It is issued by Public Security Department of Guangzhou Province, you have to use this card to enter China from Hong Kong, you can't use it from Australia to China.
