I read that there are rice terraces in a place called Yuanyang which I believe is a long way from Kunming, the places we are visiting. I am interested to know if there are any other terraces close to where we will be. (that would be easy to get to).

Actually,there are quite a lot of rice terraces in Yunnan,but less well known than Yuanyang. In my city Lijiang,there are also some.  2 year ago when I took some tourists to a remote village named Xinzhu to visit some Dongba(Shamen),we discovered such big rice terrance there,unbelievable.
