I am trying to travel to China for the first time. I have applied for my passport and should have it in a couple of weeks. I will be staying with my Chinese girlfriend once I am there. I want to work once I am there. My questions are: can I get a work visa without already having a job? I live close to SF, CA, should I just go directly to the consulate to get my visa? can I just get a one-way ticket? do I have to have my ticket before I apply for my visa? how long can I stay? what if I get married? is it true that the legal age for a man to marry is 22?
