About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I am American and wish to visit ShenZhen for 3 days and Dongguan or GuangZhou for 2 days. Few months ago I read from a webpage (can not find where is the webpage now) that American do not need to apply for entry visa. I booked my airticket arriving on November 4, 2009 and now read some website that have conflicting information that I need to apply Visa before I leave Los Angeles. I really do not like to go thru the trouble of applying the Visa so what do you think if I can enter ShenZhen and stay in ShenZhen for 5 days. Thank you for the reply.

You have to apply for a Chinese visa before departure. American citizens arenot able to apply for visa on arrival in Shenzhen or any entry ports.
