I have a colleague holding American passport who is being transferred from our Germany office to Beijing office.  She is currently in Beijing and started her Work Visa application process in Beijing.  I was told after she got the Alien Employment License, she needs to exit China and travel to either Hong Kong or Singapore and go to China Embassy to apply for Employment Visa. Is this process in either Hong Kong or Singapore the same duration? Is it better to come to Singapore? I understand there is express service of 1-day turnaround time, how much does it cost? Thanks for your advice.

There is express service for visa application both in the visa office of China in Hk and  in Singapore.In Hk, she have to pay a total of SGD 75 for the express service of 1 working day processing time; in Singapore, she have to pay a total of 400 Hk dollars for the express service of 1 working day processing time.
