About:Imperial Garden

I am planning to go to Hangzhou from Shanghai in early nov'09.But I wish to go to Xitang. Which place should i go first as I plan to stay one nite at either Hangzhou or xitang. Any suggestion which is better? How far is the two places.

Hangzhou is about 2 hours drive from Xitang. My suggestion is that you can go to Xitang first from Shanghai (about 1.5 hours, I did early this year. It is faster to go Xitang from Shanghai than from Hangzhou). Stay one night in Xitang. There are many hotels and inns in the old town. Then take bus to Hangzhou the nexy day. If you have any other problems, I would like to help more.

I thought Xitang is very near to Hangzhou. Is Xitang safe if we would like to stay one nite there. How long it takes to travel by bus from Xitang to Hangzhou?

It takes about two hours from Xitang to hangzhou. It is safe. There are also hotels in the scenic area, but not inside the town and along the river. If you travel alone without tour package, recommend you go in weekdays. You would not to pay for entrace fee in weekdays, for there are many lanes leading to enter the town, you need not to go through the main entrance.
