About:Hangzhou Travel

I will be traveling to Hangzhou for business later this month, and will have 1 day free for sightseeing. Any suggestions on a 1 day itinerary for an English-speaking visitor? I do not, unfortunately, speak / read Chinese.

I think you could spend the day in visiting the West Lake and the sceneries around it, which is large enough for one-day tour.
