About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I'm going to Hong Kong using my US passport for 7 days. I want to take a side trip to China for two days. Must I have a visa? What if I book a tour with HK travel agency, would that help eliminating the need of a visa?

If you will just go to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, Huizhou and Shantou through a Hk travel Agency, no China visa will be required.
