About:China Customs Declaration

Hi we are going to live in China for several years and my husbands employer organise a container. Is there a limit to the number of english books that can be bought in? They are mainly childrens books. Also a new computer valued at 13000 yuan & wines. I know the tax is 50 pc on alcohol but how do they know what price to base this on?

For the english book:
first you must ensure that the content will not demage Chhina, Then, if the total value exceeds 2000 cny, you need to declare to the customs. The computer is your personal things and do not need to be declared. I think that you know the limit on wine. If you take more than the limit, certain duty fee will be charged. The customs will ask to see your receipt to charge the duty,. If you do not have the receipt, they will have a estimate themselves!
