About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

My wife needs to renew her Chinese passport. We live in Ohio. Is it mandatory to apply for renewal in the specific Consular district(in this case New York), or can she apply at the Embassy in Washington D.C.?

yes, it is mandatory to apply for renewal in Consulate General of China in new York becuase Ohio is under the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of China in new York.
