About:

Hi!

We want to travel from Shanghai to Hangzhou for 2 days...by train.

1. are there speed trains to and fro? How much and which station to buy tickets? Can buy online?

2. any recommendation for accomodation in Hangzhou? Budget RMB 250 per room?

3. Are we able to leave some of our baggage at the Pudong Airport, we are transiting Shanghai from New York back to Singapore? YOu can imagine how many items we would have? how much are the storage? safe?

There are nearly 80 trains every day from Shanghai to Hangzhou. No need to book online, indeed I never try this. Usually, service fee is much higher if buy through online ticket agent. Speed trains are D trains and they can take you to Hangzhou 1.5 hour later. Shanghai South Railway Station and Shanghai Railway Station both has such trains, South Ralway Station has more train. Ticket fare is 52/62RMB for D trains. Other trains will be much cheaper.

Generally, it is no problem to save luggage there, or you can ask the hotel inside the terminal about similar service. I just know the you can find the luggage room at 3F, International DEparture Hall, (nearby check-in counters area A). It is charges according to the luggage size. Around 50/case on day. You should consider the cost for 48 hours.
