About:Fuzhou Transportation

There is a new express train between Fuzhou and Xiamen opening sometime in late 2009. Also, the express train between Fuzhou and Hangzhou/Shanghai opened just before the National Holiday. There are plans for two subway lines in Fuzhou over the next 3-4 years. If anyone has more detail on these transportation modes please reply.

Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway is expected to be open before the end of 2009. It will take 2.5 hour from Fuzhou to Xiamen and connecting Quanzhou, Putian. The ticket fare is estimated to be 84-102RMB. Yes there are several express train from Fuzhou that can reach Hangzhou 5 hours later and Shanghai 6 hours later.
Train D3102, 3104, 3106, 3108 run to Hangzhou and then to Shanghai (South Railway Station). D3114, D3116 and D3112 only run to Hangzhou Railway Station.
Ticket fare: to Hangzhou: 254/304RMB To Shanghai: 305/366RMB
As to Fuzhou Subway, yes, two lines has been approved to built. THe first line (South-North line) os nearly 29 km long connecting Xindiana, Fuzhou Railway Station to Nantai Island. It has total 24 stations and is expected to be finishes in 2014. The second line is cros Line 1 (West-East Line). Fuzhou South Railway Station is going to be completed very soon. The second metro line is expected to be finished by 2020. That's all I can tell. Hope it makes sense.
