About:Mid-Autumn Festival

My wife and I have recently began taking lessions in Mandarin at the Local Chinese Community Centre after a Cantonese friend of ours introduced us a couple of weeks ago. Although we have only been to 3 lessons so far, we have been invited to attend the Mid-Autumn Festival which the Community Centre is hosting this weekend and as far as we are aware, we will be the only 2 non-chinese people attending this festival.

We have been made to feel very welcome at the Community Centre and as this festival also falls on my birthday this year, i feel doubly blessed by the invitation and i would like to give a Gift as a thank you when we attend but i have no idea what would be appropriate. I would like to give the gift to the Community Centre as a whole, possibly something decorative which could be displayed but i dont know if that would be inappropriate during a specific festival?

If someone could please advise me what would be an appropriate gift and possibly the best way to present it i would be very grateful
