About:

My 82 year old mother will be travelling with me on the train from Shanghai to Wuxi. In my experience, when they open the gate to let you out to the platform, you must walk very fast. My elderly mother cannot walk fast and we will have luggage. Can we get assistance and can we go to the platform a few minutes earlier?

Generally, the staff will check the ticket to open the door 40 minutes before the train leaves. You can go earlier and have assistance. There are VIP rest room in the train station, you can ask for help there.
