To avoid any loss or damage about your passport, why not apply for the china visa from the Chian emabssy in Singapore directly or through the travel agency you booked the tour?

Ms. Teh, if you cannot come personally, you may send someone else or a travel/visa agent to come to the visa office of the Embassy or Consulate-General where you reside for application processes.
