You should get to the bus station at Nanpu Bridge where has buses to Luwan port. There are speed boat to the poor to Putuo Mountain. The bus leaves from Nanpu at 8am. It need two hours on road and 2.5 hours on water. Shanghai South Bus Station has direct buses to Putuo, which need about 6 hours. Or you can take a flight from Hongqiao Airport of Shanghai. It has two flights to Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport in Zhujiajian Island everyday. Get out of Zhoushan Airport, take a taxi to Wugongshi Port where you can find speed boats to the mountain every ten minutes and get there within 20 minutes.
