About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

Hello, I am an American living in Seoul working as a university professor and wanted to visit China during my break. I went to the Chinese embassy where I was refused entrance and then grabbed by some ajuma and taken to a travel agent where I was told I had to apply for a visa if I want to go to China (sounded shady to me but I decided to go along with it). I pointed to my app where I specified that I wanted a 1 year multi entry visa, which according to YOUR website is available to Americans for 120,000 won and paid my fee and when I came back to get my Visa today it was for a single entry and only can be used during a 3 month period up until November 11th. Is this true? Can US ciitizens no longer get a multi entry visa for a year? If so why does your website still list this as an option? If your information is correct and US citizens CAN still get a 1 year multi entry visa for China, how do I go about correcting this issue when I cannot enter the Chinese embassy? I must echo Jim's statement, this seems rather unfair and petty considering that your nationals are freely allowed to enter my country's embassy for issues with visas. Please let me know asap as I would like to either fix my visa so that I get what I paid for or cancel my visa and recieve a refund as this is not what I paid for.

Mr.Steve, it's true that all oridinary passport holders should apply for Chinese visa from the designated travel agencies by the China Embassy in Seoul. Have you read the information on this website? It states the inforamtion about visa application.

It's true that every US citizen wnat to get the one year multiple entry visa because the fee is same to the single entry. However, the visa validity, entry numbers and stay duration are up to the decision of visa officers rather than the travel agencies.

Although you will cancel your visa, the moeny will not be returned to you.
