I am drawing out my travel plan. I’d like to see the Qin Terra Cotta Warriors in Xian, then turn to Shanghai. I am wondering if there are direct trains running from Xian to Shanghai.

You can take the T140 train. Another option: a new direct express train service has been in operation from the end of last December. The train numbers are Z94/1 and Z92/3. The new direct express trains will depart from Xian at 17: 49 and arrive in Shanghai at 07: 29 next day. The journey time is 13 hours and 40 minutes, which is two hours less than that of T140/137 trains. Hope you have a good journey.
