HI,Mr.David
I recommend you two websites, one for shanghai climate, the other for shanghai shoping. They have detailed information
https://www.travelchinaguide.com/climate/shanghai.htm
https://www.travelchinaguide.com/shanghai/shopping.htm
I bet those can help a lot.
For your one week stay in Shanghai, you can visit top attractions such as The Bund, Nanjing Road, Yuyuang Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Xin Tian Di and ect.

if you are after clothes, shoes, accesorries and bags, you can go to qi pu lu & ke ji guan (see reply to mr deepak below).

if you do not like to go to these kind of places, you can go over to nanjing road (alight at either train station: ren ming guang chang- it is a short 3-5 mins walk over to nanjing lu OR alight at nanjing lu). lu zui also have the biggest H&M store over there and if i remember correctly, there is also mango, topshop and a few big stores over there. by the way, there are lots of shopping malls at ren ming guang chang too.

do also go over to chen huang miao. there is the famous nan xiang xiao long baos there! very yummy!

look out for roadside stalls when u are going back at night. their road side 'bbq' and ma la tang (spicy noodles) are fantastic!. it is a must try!!!!!!!!!!
