About:Chinese Jade

I am a jewellery valuer and we have a white nephrite jade bangle in for valuation. The customer has a receipt from China saying she paid 99800.00 yuan. We feel this is excessive in price but we could be quite wrong. What values are nephrite jade in bangles. I have no idea what the origin of this bangle is. Held between a ruber band and tapped it has a very high ring. Semi-transluscent. Pure white. Many thanks.

Hi Mrs Towers

My wife and I go on vacation to various parts of China twice a year. A hobbyist, she has collected many jade books (written in Chinese) as well as, a dozen or more jade bangles, etc. If you could email a photo of the jade bangle, she might be able to place a guesstimate. We will be off to Chengdu next month and she is likely to go jade hunting again

Regards
Chan Wing

PS: She passed GIA examinations during her younger days for the fun of it all.
