I and my family will be coming off a cruise ship in Shanghai. Would like to take overnight train to Xian and arrive the next morning. Would it be possible to see the Terra-cotta Warriors and any other main sites and still be able to take the evening train to Beijing. We have very limited number of vacation days before my daughter has to return to work.

If the train from shanghai to Xian arrives early in the morning, you can take the tourist bus just at the railway station square to the terracotta warriors museum, then back to the city at noon. Time permitting ,you may have some time to visit the city wall or the bell tower which are not far from the railwat station. By the way, you can store your luggages at the railway station.
