About:China Train

My husband and I will be travelling to Shanghai and would like to spend a couple of days in Beijing. Can youplease tell me what train I should take from Shanghai and a recommended hotel in Beijing? We are staying at the Sofitel in Shanghai for the first night.
I would liketo visit the Great Wall of China and would like to know what else we should do in Beijing, we have only a limited amount of time.

hi Heather,
For the train from Shanghai to Beijing, i suggest you take the overnight soft sleeper D308, D306, D302 or D314. Those trains depart from Shanghai after 21:00 and arrive in Beijing after 07:00 the next day. It may save you one night hotel in Beijing.

The marvellous Great Wall is the must see in Beijing, certainly you should not miss the Forbidden City, Temple or Heaven and the Summer Palace. If you have more time in Beijing, the Hutong is the first choice to experience the local life.

I can not give you a proper suggestion for the hotel in Beijing, but if found there are many hotels listed in this website - travelchinaguide. You can have a look at it. Hope it helps you.
