About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

I am an Australian Citizen looking to backpack around Europe, and then on to China. I know i need a visa, but i cannot apply for one in Australia, because by the time i get to china the visa's 3 month validity will have expired, due to the itinerary i have to follow. Is there any way i could apply for one in London, or any where else in Europe?
I would really appreciate any help at this stage as none of the embassy's seem to provide the information i need!
Thank you.

You can apply for the china visa from the Chinese embassy either in London or in Europe. Take it easy.
