British passport holders can enter Shanghai without a visa for 48 hours. You may experience the Maglev from Pudong airport to Longyang Road. The round tickets are 160 Chinese yuan.

Thank you for your answer. Do I need Chinese yuan for the tickets or can I pay by mastercard/visa.

Thank you.

No, it seems that you have to purchase the ticket by cash. A tips, please show your intraday air tiket when you purchasing the Maglev ticket so that you could enjoy a 20% discount.

Ms. Evelyn, how do you know that British passport holders can stay in Shanghai for 48 hrs without a visa? On the Chinese Embassy website they are not included on the list of countries that can take advantage of this.
