About:Chinese Embassy in Indonesia

I am an Indonesian passport holder and currently working in china. My X(student) visa is expiring soon, and since I'm not a student anymore, I think it's better for me to switch to Z (working)visa soon. Considering the ticket fare to go back home is quite pricy, therefore I'm thinking of applying Z visa from HK. Would that be possible? My concern is that during Olympics, passport holders of 33 countries couldn't apply for China Visa in Hong Kong and Macau anymore; and Indonesia in one of them. Hopefully the rules now had changed...
Pls advise me...Thanks in advance!
