About:Embassy & Consulates of Australia in China

I have been trying for some time now to get through to someone to answer my query and I am yet to have had any luck. Time is running out and I would really appreciate an urgent response to my query.

I am planning on going travelling with my sister around the middle of August this year. We plan to head to China around March/April next year for 1-2 months. According to the rules for English citizens, we can either have a 3 or 6 month visa which is valid form the date of issue. However, as we are not planning to enter China until after the 6 month period is up, I was wondering whether we would be allowed to apply for a Chinese visa when we are in Australia? We are planning on being in Australia for 3 months and therefore will have enough time to sort this out. But I just desperately need to know whether we would be allowed to do this? and how long would it take? Without getting confirmation of my query I am unable to book my trip and time is running out for everything to be organised ie dates, tours etc.

I would really appreciate your help as it is in much need.

Yes, you may apply for the China visa from the Chinese embassy or cunsulate in Australia, adn it often takes 4 working days.
