The ancient town of Xitang is situated in Jiashan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. Xitang is 11 kilometers from the downtown of Jiashan. On the first day, we took a train from Shanghai to Jiashan and then transfer to Xitang by minibus. The minibus charge cost 3.5 yuan. Xitang has a history of more than 1000 years. In Xitang, the streets along the river all were equipped with canopies. They look like the long corridor in the Summer Palace of Beijing. With the canopies, the rain cannot wet you and the sun cannot burn you.
