About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

I am a US citizen USAF retiree visiting Osan AB, Korea since May 24/09, can I get a Chinese Visa? If so, how many days are required awaiting approval.
The local travel agency stated my application was disapproved since I am in Korea.
Is there a specific reason?.
I visited China about 7-8 years ago on a tour and have no negative record for denial or ever denied.
Do I have to return to the USA to apply?
Thank you

Mr.Dinraj, you can get China visa for South Korea. But you have to apply for China visa (Hong Kong Visa is not included) through travel agencies authorized by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Korea.
