Well, you could stay in each of them for 3 days. Beijing Day 1: Tiananmen Square->Forbidden City->Temple of Heaven or Beijing HutongsDay 2: Badaling Great Wakk->Ming Tomb->Olympic StadiumDay 3: Summer Palace->Beijing's streets or fly to ShanghaiShanghai Day 1: Shanghai Musuem or Yuyuan Garden->Nanjing Road & Bund->Pudong District for Oriental Pearl TV Tower or Jinmao TowerDay 2: Go to Suzhou or Zhouzhuang/Luzhi/Wuzhen to experience the water town in South ChinaDay3: free explore and then leave Shanghai in the afternoon.
