About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

VOA for me (peruvian) and my wife (filipina) and kids

I am peruvian married with a filipina 2 years ago, we travelled to China before, I had many visas and she had 1 tourist visa on 2024. Now we want to travel to Hong Kong and go to Shenzhen via LuoHu, this time we will travel with her kid and her niece. Is possibe for us (4) to get VOA to go to Shenzhen? We will have the book for hotel in Shenzhen and after some days we will return to Hong Kong and later travel to another country.
What is the cost for the visa? can we visit Shantou or Guangzhou or even Yiwu in China with this VOA?

Daniel, it is possible to obtain a Shenzhen 5 day visa on arrival at Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing. The success record for Peruvian citizens is very good, but for the citizens of the Philippines not exactly. However, since both you and she had relatively recent visits to China, your chances to be granted a visa are very good and you are encouraged to proceed with your travel plans. One detail here... You have mentioned a niece of your wife that is supposed to travel with you. This is fine, but she is supposed to be at least 18 years old because otherwise she could be easily rejected for entry and that could ruin your travel plans. The price of a Shenzhen VOA is exactly 130 CNY and it should be paid by card. All major, global cards are accepted and the visa is required for you all, children included. When you obtain a Shenzhen VOA you are allowed to stay and move only within Shenzhen city administrative limits or in other words, you are not allowed to travel to Guangzhou, Yiwu or Shantou. When you are done with your visit to Shenzhen you can return to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing and also any mean of transport, high speed train included.

Thanks very much for your reply.
My wife had experience with a visa in China before, so I think is fine, her son is 15 years old and her niece is 18 years old, so I think it won´t be a problem for them to get a VOA right?
Is there an option to get a visa to visit Guangzhou or another cities? because we will limit only to stay in Shenzhen.
Can we extend the time if we need to stay more days?
In the case of only stay in Shenzhen, can visit Dongguan? is very close to Shenzhen, maybe some closer cities to visit?

1. Yes, they will probably succeed, but not guaranteed.
2. Regrettably, Shenzhen 5-day visa on arrival cannot be extended, and you have to leave before it expires.
3. With the 5-day VOA, you can only travel within Shenzhen, and other cities including Dongguan are not allowed even if it’s very close to Shenzhen.
4. If you want to travel to nearby cities, a ready tourist visa is required.
