My name is April Machelle Potyondy.
My husband Joseph and and I have adopted a child from Indonesia and have recently moved to China. As my husband and I are both American Citizens we are in the process of getting our son Jeremia's American Citizenship papers done.
As reuired by Chinese Immigration we have sent all of our documents (with court papers) to Indonesia to get a stamp from your embassy. This stamp is just to verify that you have seen the documents and know that Jeremia is our son. This will enable us to get him his student or dependent visa for living here in China with us.
As you instructed in your response on May 8th, Our friend went to the embassy and was told things that needed to be done to make sure that all of the documents met your needed standards. The orphanage where we got our son from (Yiyason Siap Ibu) has helped our friend to get everthing prepared for you.
Within all of the documents are scanned copies of all of our passports. As we are all in China and there is not any way for us to provide you with our originals. Our friend said that someone asked for them before, but obviously they are not there.
We called and checked here in China and were told by the Chinese embassy, office of foreign affairs, and immigration here in Shenyang China that this should not be a problem and that your office in Indonesia is able to give us the stamp without having our original passports.
I hope that you can help us with this matter as we need our sons documents back as soon as possible before his visa expires here.
We look forward to hearing from you quickly regarding this matter.
Regards,
Joseph, April, and Jeremia Potyondy
