About:Chinese Consulates in Russia

I'm french and i'm studying in St Petersbourg, I would like to travel to Shanghai during my vacations. I've heard I need an invitation letter from a travel agency authorized by the Chinese government, if I apply to a tourist visa from Russia.

How can i find this kind of agency ? Do I have to contact an agency in China or in St petersbourg ?

It is more convenient for you to contact an agency in Saint Petersburg than an agency in China.Contact the consulate to enquire about the designated travel agencies.
