About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Dear Sir:
I am an international student studying in the university of liverpool. My passport will expire on December 26th,2010, and my visa will expire on Jan,31th,2010. I want to extend my visa after graduation looking for internships opportunities, but considering the expired date of my passport,my questions are:

1.Is it possible right now for me to get a new passport? As I hear somebody says that one can only allowed to get a new passport witnin one year before the old one expires.

2.Does the expired date for passport really matter for the visa extention? Suppose I still use the old passport to apply for visa extention, is it possible for me to get a two year visa extention although my passport will expire before the end of the new visa extention?

I might seem to have asked so many questions, but looking forward to your reply, thank you very much.

To your questions:
1. It is still a little early for you to renew your passport. If your passport has less than one year validity left before expiration, it is time for you to get your passport renewed.

2. The validity period of your passport really matters for your visa application and extension. Un terms of Chinese visa regulation, the passport must have at least six months validity left if you want to apply for a visa.
