About:China Embassy in Thailand

Hello,
I'm french, traveling in Thailand. When I will go back from Bangkok to Paris, by an Air France flight, in May, I will stay two days in transit in Guangzhou.
1) Do I need a visa for two days in transit in Guangzhou? I know that in Shangha you don't need it).
2 If I apply for a visa at the chinese embassy in Bangkok, do I need to leave my passport ? How many days ? It's a problem, because I'm traveling in Thailand, so I need it.
3) Do you know when the chinese embassy will open ? Today, the16th of april, it seems to be closed.

Thanks a lot. Merci beaucoup.

Mr.Gros, 1)yes, you need a visa for two days in transit in Guangzhou.
2) You need leave your passport in the Chinese embassy in Bangkok for 4 working days processing. You can take a copy of first two pages of your passport and state your situation to visa officials, it is possible that they return your original pasport to you.
3) The embassy open from Monday to Thursday (except public holiday of Thailand & China)
